Who needs a gnome?

When you've got Truman, the dog who does not know how to just be in his own yard.

He either stoically sits sentinel looking over the yard or will stand at the door, staring at the door knob waiting for the door to open and let him in again. Perhaps, with your help, we'll make a yard that he'll feel comfortable enough to hang out in.

Don't know if we'll post again (after this active day) for another week as we're off to OR for some campin' and relaxin' for a week. ~C

Going to need more details about the watering system. I'm asuming the system is the one rain provides???

also, may need some idea of the sun conditions in the yard... where you get full sun. etc...

We also may need some attitude adjustment.... no more talking about your not so green thumb....
maybe we need to prescribe a daily yoga, meditation session, with a mantra of "I deserve a beautiful garden.... Let my inner garden flow outward and fill my outer garden......."

thats a good idea.... I should try it in my garden....

Really? You think he looks happy? I think he looks like he misses Utah-- he is LDS, you know. :)

I like the yoga idea-- I missed out on doing some this week. I had meant to do yoga at 11 am my time on Thursday so as to hopefully tune my energies into my regular CLC class. Perhaps the yellow grass is reflective of that stress.

Thanks for the comments-- will be fodder for future posts once we get back from OR!

Your grass looks like (badly cared for) fescue. It always turns brown in the summer, so probably not dead. It might need some over seeding in the fall.
The rotory mower next door is likely a beloved object that is oiled, sharpened and readjusted once a week. That's his hang-up not yours.
You guys are now in the land "Jez will this stuff STOP growing?" So I'm quessing your concerns will soon shift to control.
Truman looks good on the new lookout.

gcsDon't worry about Truman. He will adjust. Besides, he is used to staying in a very limited area. At least he doesn't get loose and run for 14 hours. He'll learn to love having his coat wet all the time.
